During the Second World War, allied forces dropped nearly two million tons of bombs on Germany, destroying some sixty cities, killing more than half a million German men, women and children, and leaving eight thousand aircrew dead. Nominated for a Governor General's Literary Award, Fire and Fury is an enlightening re-examination of the Allied aerial bombing campaign and an essential addition to our understanding of contemporary world history. Randall Hansen is a political scientist and historian at the University of Toronto, where he has held the Canada Research Chair in Political Science since 2005.
