Lillie De Hegermann-Lindencrone, (1844-1928), born Lillie Greenough in Massachusetts and later known as Lillie Moulton before her second marriage to a Danish diplomat, Johan Henrik Hegermann-Lindencrone. She became a friend and confidante of several members of European royal houses, and her books, The Sunny Side of Diplomatic Life (1914) and In the Courts of Memory: Musical and Social Life During the Second Empire in Paris (1912) provides insights into high society life at the turn of the 20th century.
