Princess Victoria Louise of Prussia was the seventh child and only daughter of Kaiser Wilhelm II and Empress Augusta. In 1913, in an extravagant wedding attended by nearly all European royalty, she married Prince Ernest Augustus, the wealthy heir to the throne of Hanover, which had been annexed to Prussia as part of German unification, as well as the duchy of Cumberland. The Kaiser made his new son-in-law Duke of Brunswick and the couple went to live there. They had five children, several of whom married into other royal families. Victoria Louise published six books about her life and members of her family.
