Founded ʻAtenisi Institute in 1960s, beginning with mostly evening classes. Began the Instituteʻs University Division in 1974; It began to give A.A. degrees in 1975, and first gave B .A. degrees in 1984.
Has written many monographs in the Humanities and Social Sciences; has done translations English>Tongan, e.g. of T.S. Eliot.
