Rósza Ignácz was born into a Hungarian family in the Transylvania region of Romania, and was educated there. In 1931, she graduated from the Theatre Academy in Budapest, and then worked as an actress in the National Theatre. From 1939-1940, she worked as a correspondent in Paris for Budapest Theatre Magazine and later was a newspaper and magazine editor in Budapest. Many of her published works deal with the everyday lives and concerns of Transylvanians and their history. She also published her autobiography, Ikerpalyaimon (1975).
