Steve was born and raised under the grey skies of the Pacific Northwest. As a child his Mom encouraged him in many artistic endeavors. His upbringing was highly religious which fueled all sorts of disillusionment. He has lived in many places but has made Denver, CO his home, where he resides with his two cats Tomm and Colfax. "I tend to be drawn more towards the dark side of life, to the shadows."
Steve's favorite subjects in school were english courses. While in school Steve had a learning disability and it took him longer than most kids to learn to read but once he did he wanted to be a writer. In Junior high he was selected to attend a young writer's conference. He holds an Associates degree in Culinary Arts from the Colorado Art Institute and has primarily worked in the restaurant business and currently works for a local cafe.
Steve has been writing poetry since the fall of 1999 and has had no poetry instruction. This is his first published work. He is currently working on his next collection of poetry and has some short stories in the works.
