Rich Ives

Experimental piece that explores the relationship of a father and daughter (primarily from perspective of father) with analogies to equipment like bench clamp and vise. Each chapter starts with a diagram, often of a piece of equipment, but could also be a body part or something else that serves as a frame to think about the relationship.
Overall, I thought the concept interesting, but the end wasn't satisfying in that I just didn't get it. Each chapter, I don't know that I completely understood, but I did understand at least a little. Some of the phrases led me to stop and think, quite enjoyable. However, some chapters I just didn't connect with, especially the end.… (more)
