Born on a farm near Raymond, Minnesota, Clarence Jonk has had astrong interest in both poetry and music since his childhood.He attended the School of Agriculture at the University of Minnesota,and the State University in Austin, Texas.Shortly after leaving college he built a steamboat and lived on the upperMississippi River. He wrote of this experience in one of his wonderfullywritten books entitled ; "River Journey"."A Long Shout " is an anthology of his several books and poetry presentedin a unique american style that is both original and praiseworthy.
