This book shows what different jobs are like in a hospital. It also talks about different injuries, how they happen, and how they are cared for. With lots of photographs and some drawings to accompany this book it makes it very informational. I would use this book in a 3rd grade setting because it is more focused on real world workers and happenings.

I think this would be a good book for a student that is proficient in reading in second grade. The age range for this book is 3-7 and the reading level is an L. There are bolded words, definitions, and pictures to help support the text and key ideas within the text. I would recommend this book because I think it could open up a lot of discussions whether that be habitats, nonfiction text features, and much more. I think the words and supports are appropriate for a proficient second grader. The DCI that is explored in this book is life science. The CCC that is explored in this book is structure and function and that relates to the book because it is about the ocean and the animals, coral, etc. that live in the ocean.… (more)

Delightful text and colorful illustrations highlight colonial life from clothing accessories to the various trades performed in the 18th century. Activities such as matching illustrated shop signs to their trades is a fun way to learn. Readers will learn about: - apothecaries - education - outbuildings - wigmakers, and more!
