The book is in the shape of a drum - nice novelty shape. There is nothing to the story at all. The boy thinks about where he might play his drum: with friends, family, in a parade, an orchestra, a circus, the Wild West, New York, the jungle, for Indians, or with bagpipers. To do this he needs to practice. Who would have thought you could have made a children’s book out of that?

Great book with pics and descriptions of body, inside and out. Some pages may not be suitable for younger kids and parents may be upset. May need to delete some pages.

I loved this book growing up. Too bad it's out of print now. No other educational or encyclopedic children's book I've seen comes close to this one as far as the illustrations go, they're clean, informative and cute.

Some things are big, some things are small. The language in this book is definitively simplistic, and this is a book meant for very young children who are just learning what different objects and animals are. There is no narrative here, only comparisons of the sizes of various things, helped by beautiful artwork.
