Taught at Lake Erie College and Wellesley. Spent over 20 years writing her only book, the classic biography of Eleanor of Aquitaine (published 1950). Traveled widely in Europe and the Near East. Lived the last 12 years of her life in seclusion with her sister Elisabeth in Miami, Florida, never returning to Boston to receive the accolades for her scholarship.
