Classical literature scholar and a lecturer at the University of Wroclaw, where he teaches Latin. His debut novel Death in Breslau (1999), with which he began the series of detective stories with Eberhard Mock as his hero, was very well received by critics and readers alike. It has come out in German, and the next books in the series are being translated into both German and Russian.
