Our second authors and illustrators are Husband and wife, Robert and Lisa Papp, both enjoyed drawing when they were children. Robert – images of superheroes, Lisa – her favorite stuffed animals. These days, Robert has given up his crayons for oil paint while Lisa prefers watercolor. Both artists work from reference as well as their imagination. Lisa’s mom is a talented seamstress and makes most of the costumes that end up in the pages and on the covers of the books they illustrate. P Is for Princess: A Royal alphabet, is the first book they co-illustrated as a team and The Town that Fooled the British is their first project as author and illustrator. “We feel lucky to be in a business that lets us fool around with paint and be creative – and the best thing is, we get to do it together.” Rob and Lisa's newest collaboration is The Town that Fooled the British.
