Brendan Lehane is Irish (his father's family is from County Cork), but born in England. Educated at Eton and King's College Cambridge, he worked in publishing before taking up full-time writing. He has travelled over Europe, Africa and parts of the Middle East and America, but outside England has spent more time in Ireland than any other country. He worked in Dublin and travelled all over the country while writing this book [The Quest of Three Abbots], with the help of an Arts Council Maintenance Grant. He now lives in Dorset. [1968]
