ELLEN LEVINE, Author
January 17, Saturday, 2:00pm Henry Brown had an unusual nickname. He was called “Box” after people learned how he escaped from his life as a slave in the South by climbing inside a wooden crate and mailing himself to freedom in the North. Ellen Levine lives in New York state, but she is in Saint Paul this week as a guest lecturer for Hamline University’s M.F.A. Program in Writing for Children and Young Adults.
