my book has 'fireworks' and 'the diamond ring affair', both featuring Peter & his intrepid koala, Wonk.Charmingly dated text; Peter cant ask his uncle for money as 'he's in the Fleet Air Arm' and is too busy. Peter is 'a shade aghast' at carol singing, indeed 'his knees fairly quaked.'Each page of text has a full page colour picture opposite -cute little book

I remember reading this as a child when I was ill. It was always in the chest of drawers at the end of the bed with the red bedspread. My Mum has written my name and address in it.

`"Ohhh!" gasped Wonk, as he gazed in awe at the most beaurtiful lady he had ever seen. She was dressed in a short spangled skirt...the lady took Wonk to her dressing-room...There was also a funny feeling inside him and he could not quite make out what it was.`

Excellent forties fare - "a trim maid appeared with three plates of delicious looking strawberries and cream..."
