He was a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art, currently known as The University of the Arts. His career as a costume and fashion designer led him to New York during the nightclub era where he designed costumes for the famous performers of the Copacabana, the Latin Quarter and St. Regis Hotel, as well as for Schubert productions of plays and operettas. After retirement he became costume advisor to the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan.
