Local author Tom Lowe draws heavily on his varied jobs and experiences as a journalist, world traveler and PBS documentary filmmaker when he writes his novels. In 1980, he spent time in Mariel, Cuba documenting the “Cuban boatlift.” As a journalist, he’s traveled to Colombia reporting on the networks of cocaine distribution. He has worked as both a print and broadcast journalist, written several screenplays, and is an award-winning documentary writer/director. He has written two novels, A False Dawn and The 24th Letter.
