(Oostende, 19 februari 1857 - Gent, 3 maart 1919) Vlaamse doctor in de natuurwetenschappen, botanicus, bioloog, hoogleraar aan de Rijksuniversiteit Gent en bestuurder van de Plantentuin in Gent. Zijn moeder Sophie Fredericq was een halfzuster van de schrijfsters Virginie en Rosalie Loveling uit Nevele. Een andere halfzuster Pauline Loveling was de moeder van de schrijver Cyriel Buysse. Zijn vader Aimé Mac Leod had Schotse roots.
