The classic children’s book THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH by award-winning author Norton Juster, in which millions of children have followed Milo's adventures in the Lands Beyond, is celebrated in this 50th edition and new annotated edition. The book includes interviews with the author and illustrator, excerpts from Juster's notes and drafts, cultural and literary commentary, and an introduction that shares the background on the book's publication and how the author and illustrator met, beginning a long lasting collaboration on a project that would become a classic in the world of children's literature. Juster will also talk about his new picture book NEVILLE.

Niffenegger, the celebrated author and illustrator of The Three Incestuous Sisters and The Adventuress and a professor at Columbia College Chicago’s Center for Book and Paper Arts, will offer a more personal view as she considers the magical world of Little Golden Books and their value to her own, more adult-oriented work. Chicago book critic Donna Seaman will moderate.
