Marie Abelian, a well – educated and beautiful young woman, chose to suffer hardship with her people, God's people, rather than enjoy the pleasures of this world for a season and save herself from misery and destruction.Forced from their pleasant homes and surroundings, with nothing more than what they could carry with them, Marie, her family, and many thousands of Armenian families in Turkey started across the country on what became known as the death march or white massacre – – a living death.
