Never having grown fruit trees, I can't say if this book really is too good to be true, but it seems a little bit like that might be the case. That said, I think it's untrue that it's truly possible in *any* home because in my zone 5 apartment I'd need grow lamps, and without an outdoors space I'd have to hand pollinate. All of these trees need a lot of fertilizer. And then, even with a halfway decent nursery in the area, how do I buy these particular varieties? If and when I ever have more space, including access to outdoor land, I'll probably borrow this book again and see what I can('t) do.… (more)

a lovely book to read just before the Winter Solstice. I think they make growing edible fruit in one's living room sound just a bit easier than it really is but I am inspired to try an orange or lemon plant.
