Maxie B. Boren graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1955 with a major in Bible. At Abilene Christian College he met Alice Frances Ives, who became his wife of 62 years. Maxie preached the gospel for the churches of Christ for 62 years, holding 710 gospel meetings across the United States and various other countries. He was with the Brown Trail church of Christ for the last thirty years of his life, where he preached, directed the Brown Trail School of Preaching, and served as an elder.
