(show)  Ella Bella Ballerina and The Nutcracker by James Mayhew KIDS EVENT: Stories on the Hill In partnership with Southern Vermont Art Center, this series of free programs for children ages 4 - 9 connects listening to stories, looking at art and creating a hands-on project during a fun and engaging afternoon. Programs are held at Southern Vermont Art Center and are free, but pre-registration is encouraged to reserve a space. Travel back in time and meet many colorful characters from the art world past that include artists such as Van Gogh, Monet and Seurat. After looking at paintings of these artists in the special exhibition, “Mining the Part and Present, Works by Joe Fig,” in the Wilson Museum and reading James Mayhew’s story Katie’s Sunday Afternoon, children will create their own work of art using active lines and vibrant colors.
