Donna Milner's debut novel is about a young girl growing up in British Columbia who becomes enamored with the American draft dodger helping out on her family's farm. Acting impulsively she sets off a chain of events leading to a devastating catastrophe and estrangement from her loved ones for 35 years.
Donna Milner raised four children, mostly as a single mother, while working at jobs ranging from waitress and nurse's aide, as well as a successful career in real estate for 25 years. A voracious reader, she was also a closet writer. When she remarried 12 years ago, her husband found one of her hidden stories and encouraged her to pursue writing. She lives with her husband Tom in Williams Lake in central British Columbia. (booksense)
