I actually ended up being more interested in the "whodunit" aspect of this story and completely skipped over all the sex because it was kind of cringy.

Fade by A.K. Morgen
Ragnorök Prophecies #1

The loss of Arionna Jacobs mother sends her from Tennesee to her father’s home in the Northwest where he teaches Mythology and she will enroll in college. Meeting Dace Matthews, a teacher’s assistant on campus, is BIG for both of them. She feels a link to him just as he feels one to her. The story is based in Norse Mythology with Dace and Arionna eventually realizing they have a purpose to fulfill before the series ends. In this book the basics are provided, main characters are introduced and the good and bad identified. The story is well plotted and written and will appeal to readers who enjoy mythology, shapeshifters, reincarnation, soul mates and like books written for the young adult genre. It will be interesting to see what happens next as Dace and Arionna continue their journey together to thwart the evil in their midst.

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Umm... I'm not going to waste my time on this book anymore. 20% into were pretty much enough for me to say that it's not worth my time. Not a single second. And to be honest, I was glad I saw so many 1 star reviews of it. Because this book is a total waste of paper and ink, and ultimately - trees.

I hate possessive relationships - and the one between Arriona (the main heroine) and Dace was exactly this way. I mean, come on! Saying "you belong to me" to someone you've just met (or actually just SEEN) is ridiculous. But more ridiculous is that Arriona actually accepted it! She says something like "I know I belong to him more than I belong to myself". Right.

Now let's get things clear. Arriona has just lost her mother to some accident. She's (supposed to be)devastated. So all she does is be sad and cry all the time. And then all of a sudden Dace comes in the picture and all she can think about is him, his possessiveness and how he backed her up against a tree and almost took her virginity there. And most of all, she wouldn't have stopped him!!! What the heck?? Seriously?

Yeeaaah... no. I'm so not reading beyond this point.

You know what I wonder though? This is NOT a self-published book. I mean, there's a whole team of editors, beta-readers, publicists et cetera behind this publication. Did NO ONE actually notice how stupid the characters sounded? How pointless the story was? I mean, those people get paid to make sure the published works will bring profit. I don't see what sort of profit FADE will bring, seeing it has all those 1 star reviews.... I hope no one assumes that the global community of readers comprises of stupid, clueless, sheep-like people.

** Review written for an originally posted on my blog, Book Bliss.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review**

Review: 5 stars

General: This is the second book in the series. I recommend getting The Fade, and reading it first as they are dependent upon one another. I loved so much about this book. In all honesty my only complaint is the cliffhanger ending.

I love the concept of playing around with mythology, especially Norse as the literary world is so filled with Greek, and I love Norse mythology. The world created seems to be heavily built upon in this novel so world wise, if you skip book one it should not cause any confusion at all. This book did seem to move a tiny bit slow as a lot of it was set upon back story and myth. I loved that concept because it helped me to understand but I also would have liked a little more action/ plot moving forward the whole time.

Characters: Ari- Ari was a very strong and enjoyable female. This book showed her really coming into her own. I think the scenes that showed her interacting with her wolf (no spoilers read to understand!) were the most impactful and entertaining. Although, her chemistry with Dace was very strong.

Ronan- He really seemed to catch my attention in this novel, even though he isn’t “the hero”. I found his character very compelling and his tension and storylines with both Ari and Dace almost as intriguing as the general plot line.

Dace- Dace faded into the background a little bit for me in this book, I’m not sure how he was in the first though. He was strong, fun and I enjoyed his backstory a lot. He just felt a little too tragic and backseat for me in this novel.
