Born in Bucharest, Romania two years after the revolution, Stefan spent his childhood in the countryside with his grandmother. As a child, Stefan would ride his bike all day and strive to get as many 'stars' as he could in kindergarden. Moving to Bucharest for middle-school, he was often considered a social outcast, because of his dedication to schoolwork and general lack of interest in sports, which continued through high-school. Although passionate about literature and still aspiring to write, he grew more fond of movies, music and science which lead him to join a more technical writing endeavor in the form of MakeUseOf.com.
