Ted Nealon was an Irish broadcaster, politician and author. Before beginning a career in politics he worked for RTE as a journalist. In 1981 he was elected to Dáil Eireann for the Sligo-Leitrim constituency for Fine Gael and would remain a TD until his retirement in 1997. He was a Minister of State from 1981-82 and from 1983-87. He subsequently became the author of Nealon's Guide, a statistical guide to Irish parliamentary elections.
