Irina Nijinska was the daughter of Bronislava Nijinska and the dancer Alexander Kotchetovsky. She was trained as a dancer in Paris and performed with numerous companies. After a 1936 accident hampered her dancing, she turned to teaching and to reconstructing and staging her mother's ballets. She translated and edited her mother's autobiography.
