We are very pleased to welcome Anne O’Brien to Wordfest to talk about her new novel, ‘Virgin Widow’. This is the rich and compelling tale of Anne Neville, who was caught up in the dramatic and dangerous power games of the Wars of the Roses. Daughter of Warwick the Kingmaker, she was married first to Prince Edward of Lancaster and later to Richard of Gloucester, who became King Richard III. Anne O’Brien was born in Yorkshire, and was a history teacher before turning to write historical romances. ‘Virgin Widow’ is her first novel based on a historical character, and promises to be fascinating and dramatic in equal measure.
