NOIR AT THE BAR at Opal Divine's featuring
Dan O'Shea, JOSH STALLINGS, & JESSE SUBLETT
The only thing most crime fiction fans love as much as books is drinking, so it only makes sense that someone would combine both. Started in Philadelphia a few years, Noir At The Bar has made its way across the country from Philadelphia to LA. MysteryPeople is giving it an Austin spin on Jan 5th at Opal Divine's on South Congress.
We'll have four of the hippest, hard boiled authors on the scene reading from and discussing their work: Dan O'Shea, Josh Stallings, & Jesse Sublett
So come out to Opal's (3601 South Congress) at 7PM and help us celebrate a new tradition - Austin's Noir at the Bar.
Dan O'Shea Dan O’Shea is a Chicago-area writer. His first two thrillers, Penance and Mammon, were published by Exhibit A. Drawing on Chicago’s settings and history, the novels explore the city’s history of corruption, but with a national, even international flavour.
JOSH STALLINGS is author of the critically acclaimed Moses McGuire crime books. He has been in no particular order, a film editor, taxi driver, criminal, father, husband, club bouncer, a trailer editor, a screen writer, a bad actor and a good friend. He lives in the city of his birth, Los Angeles with his wife Erika, two dogs and a cat.
JESSE SUBLETT an author, musician and artist. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, son and a bunch of cats. His crime novels include Rock Critic Murders, Tough Baby and Boiled in Concrete. His memoir, Never the Same Again: A Rock n’ Roll Gothic, was published in 2004, and is actually darker and more violent than his crime novels. Sublett has work published in The New York Times, Texas Observer, Texas Monthly, and the Austin Chronicle.
