CHEESE DELUXE: A MEMOIRWe warmly welcome back Seattle author, journalist, and broadcast writer and producer Greg Palmer (Adventures in the Mainstream: Coming of Age with Down Syndrome), here to talk about his memoir of the summer after his high school graduation in 1965 on Mercer Island, where he worked as the main cook at the Samoa Drive-In, a teen hangout and purveyor of the Cheese Deluxe, one of the world's best burgers. Over many a Cheese Deluxe, he and his fellow "Samoans" enjoyed the vicarious escapades of their colleagues. By turns as a participant, an observer, and a confessor, Palmer tells fourteen stories—some romances, some comedies and a few tragedies. (booksense)
