This is a historical fiction/realistic fiction story because it references a historical event and uses inspirational context realistic for people today. Throughout this story the content is written simply. It begins sharing that the earth is big, beautiful and rather peaceful. It continues forward sharing that on one day many people were very hurt. Although many events happen uncontrollably due to weather, this event was caused by people who were acting out of a mean heart. It continues by writing that no matter what age you are you can help. After sharing some examples of ways to help such as sharing and being kind to others it discusses that although bad things happen there is always still more good than bad in this world.… (more)

I remember feeling the way that this author felt after 9/11 and I remember looking for some solid footing. This is a simple book, really simple, but I totally get that.
