I think that the time for me to give up reviewing books in the Early Reviewer offerings here has come. When I started I would often choose interesting and even very good books but it is a long time since that last happened and this was not the book to break the run of books that I have dutifully read and found wanting. This is another book that promises much and deliver nothing save frustration and that sinking feeling about a third in that makes me ask 'can I be bothered finishing this?'. I ploughed on even though none of the characters drew me at all when really I should have just metaphorically thrown it into the bin with the last few (metaphorically because it is an ebook). The plot was so what and the character development zero. Predictable but still disappointing. I do wonder now that everybody can publish whether it is up to people like me to winnow the stuff on offer and if it is then I quit… (more)
