Tickets: £2 Couch Fiction is a comic strip story about an affluent barrister who seeks therapy for his kleptomania. A hybrid of psychotherapy case study and offbeat comic book, inspired in equal measure by Susie Orbach and American Splendor, Philippa Perry's book, illustrated by Junko Graat, is a joy to read. Containing both serious insights into psychotherapy, as well as a sprinkling of jokes, Philippa Perry - wife of artist Grayson Perry - manages to invest 'Couch Fiction' with both an entertaining as well as an enlightening quality. The result is a demystification of therapy through rather clever use of the comic strip format's flexibility. Tickets cost £2 and can be obtained by telephoning or visiting the Customer Service Department, Second Floor, Blackwell Bookshop, Oxford. Tel: 01865 333623. (oxygen_142)
