Painting was doña Carmen’s passion, her principal reason for existence. Although she is no longer physically present in her beloved Guatemala, her spirit lives on through her works of art and her initiative in founding the Museo Ixchel. She left an indelible mark on her country, leaving behind an artistic legacy that reflects not only her love and enthusiasm for life but an abiding appreciation and respect for Guatemala.
