The story of Moslem art begins thirteen centuries ago. ... Now, as masters of an empire, the Arabs could command the services of craftsmen and artists from Egypt, Syria, Greece and Persia - countries with traditions of art going back hundress of years. The arts of these conquered craftsmen, blended together under the rule of the Arabs, form what we know as Moslem, or Islamic, art. Illustrated with drawings and photographs
