Poet Lisa Bellamy has published in Tiferet, Harpur Palate, Skidrow Penthouse and other magazines. In 2008, she won the Fugue Poetry Prize and received a Pushcart Prize nomination. She has been a finalist for the Gerald Stern Poetry Prize and in 2007 received honorable mention in The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror. She graduated from Princeton and is working on her first poetry collection. Author Suzanne McConnell has twice been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, her fiction has been published in journals such as The Saint Ann’s Review, Bellevue Literary Review, The Hamilton Stone Review, Green Mountains Review, The Fiddlehead, and Poets & Writers. Her most recent publication, a short story which won Second Prize in So to Speak’s summer/fall 2008 Fiction Contest, was fashioned from parts of her first novel, Fence of Earth, a finalist for the James Fellowship for Novel-in-Progress and now available for publication. She has an M.F.A from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, teaches at Hunter College, and is Fiction Editor for Bellevue Literary Review. Psychoanalyst Therese Ragen, Ph.D. practices in Manhattan. She is a Clinical Professor of Psychology at the New York University Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. Therese has published her own creative nonfiction work in the Northwest Review, the Texas Review, the Palo Alto Review and in Contemporary Psychoanalysis. Her latest book The Consulting Room and Beyond is described by Carole Maso, Professor of Literary Arts, Brown University as “A work of generosity, sensitivity and intelligence. Therese Ragen provides a luminous window into a vibrant and mesmerizing world." Karen Gormandy is a graduate creative writing student at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York and was a long time getting there. She was born in Trinidad and grew up in New York City where she attended the High School of Art & Design. She has lived in San Francisco, Denver and a dirt road in Montana where she received a degree in film from Montana State University. She is a former Vice President on the board of directors of the New York City metro chapter for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and a former literary agent with Harold Ober Associates Incorporated. She left the latter to complete a personal writing project, an excerpt of which will be published by the University of Missouri Press. She is one of the founders of The New Writers Forum reading series and a board member for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, New York State chapter where she remains an advocate for people affected with mental illness and their families.
