Join us for an evening with four New Hampshire writers to celebrate the New Hampshire Writers' Project NH Writers' Week!
Governor Maggie Hassan proclaimed the week of Nov. 30 to Dec. 6th New Hampshire Writers' Week. Read the proclamation here!
The goal of the NH Writers' Week is to celebrate the rich literary heritage in New Hampshire while also putting a spotlight on the diverse writers living and working in our state. Events will be taking place across the state-- including our event with authors Amy Ray, Chelsy Phillpot, Paul Durham, and JoAnn Adinolfi.
We will be talking great gifts for the holidays, from picture books to middle grade, to young adult and "new adult."
JoAnn Adinolfi was born in New York City, on Staten Island. She is the author-illustrator of Tina's Diner. She has also illustrated Mrs. Cole on an Onion Roll: And Other School Poems by Kalli Dakos, Halloween Hoots and Howls by Joan Horton, and Johnny Germ Head by James Quigley. She now lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Paul Durham was raised in Massachusetts and at-tended college and law school in Boston. He now lives in New Hampshire with his wife, two daughters, and an enormous bushy creature the local animal shelter identified as a cat. He writes in an abandoned chicken coop at the edge of a swamp and keeps a tiny porcelain frog in his pocket for good luck.
Chelsy Philpot is grew up on a farm in New Hampshire and now works as an editor and a journalist. She's written for the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Slate, and numerous other publications. Like her main character, Charlotte, Chelsey attended boarding school in New England and then earned a degree in English from Vassar College and a master's in journalism from Boston University.
Amy Ray is a writer of suspense novels for adults, children's middle-grade adventure novels, and picture books. Her mystery/thriller Dangerous Denial was published in April, 2014 by Barking Rain Press. She will have a short story featured in Love Free Or Die, the fourth book in the NH Pulp Fiction Series from Plaidswede Publishing. She lives near the New Hampshire seacoast with her husband and daughter. Her favorite hobbies include reading, knitting, and tap dancing.
