Events at the Doylestown Bookshop: Saturday, September 13th Meet these Authors: Jennifer Hansen Rolli
12:00 pm Jennifer Hansen ran her own design firm for many years before returning to her first love: oil painting. She lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania with her family. She (usually) gets a kick out of her own children pushing for “Just One More” until the occasional crash! boom! bang! and the realization that she has let them express a little too much independence! Just One More is her first book for children.
Jon McGoran 12:00 pm Jon McGoran has written about food and sustainability for twenty years, as communication director at Weavers Way Co-op in Philadelphia, and now as editor at Grid magazine. During that time he has also been an advocate for urban agriculture, cooperative development and labeling of genetically engineered foods. He is a founding member of the Philadelphia Liars Club, a group of published authors dedicated to promotion, networking, and service work.
Dennis Tafoya 3:00 pm Dennis Tafoya is from Philadelphia and is the author of two novels, Dope Thief and The Wolves of Fairmount Park, as well as numerous short stories appearing in collections such as Philadelphia Noir, from Akashic Books. His third novel, The Poor Boy's Game, was just released by Minotaur Books in April, 2014. Julie Saab & David Gothard 2:00 pm Julie Saab and David Gothard live with their two young children, two cats, and two fish in a busy house in Pennsylvania. It was David's silly painting of a dancing cat that inspired Julie to write about Little Lola, a fun-loving city cat who goes on big adventures. David has been illustrating for newspapers, magazines, and books since graduating from Pratt Institute, where he now teaches drawing classes. Julie studied literature at Villanova University and the University of Edinburgh and has taught high school English for many years. Julie and David happily divide their time between changing diapers and dreaming up bigger and bigger adventures for Little Lola. For more information please visit: www.doylestownartsfestival.com
