Patrons are invited to hear Karen Roth discuss the sequel to her novel, “Found on 16th Avenue.” The followup, “My Portion Forever”, introduces Sana Toledo, a young woman who develops a secret love for Joe Vesely. She is forced to leave home and join the Army Nurse Corps—only to meet Joe again in 1942 when they are both part of Operation Torch, the first Allied assault on North Africa in World War II. Joe and Sana, on the eve of battle, impulsively make a pact to stay committed to God no matter what temptations and horrors the war brings. But neither one knows how long and dangerous the war will be and if they can keep their hasty vow . . . or even if they’ll survive to see each other again. Brown Bag Briefings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month; light refreshments are served. (amussman)
