Short biography
Lena Jedwab Rozenberg was 16 years old in June 1941, when she left her home in Bialystok, Poland and arrived in Russia for what she thought would be a summer vacation, just as Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union in World War II. She was stranded in a Russian children's home while her Jewish family was murdered by the Nazis at the Treblinka concentration camp. She wrote her diary in Yiddish, and it has been translated into English and other languages.
