Timothy W. Ryback is the director of the Salzburg Seminar where he has served in numerous programmatic and administrative capacities, including deputy director for alumni affairs, and academic program coordinator. Before joining the Seminar in 1990, he was a lecturer in the Concentration of History and Literature at Harvard University. From 1980 to 1981 he was a guest lecturer in American studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. He has a B.A. and an M.A. from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University, Massachusetts.
