Amy Sedaris Amy Sedaris reads from Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. Amy Sedaris will give a performance and sign copies of her new book, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. Comedienne, playwright and actress, Sedaris has performed in the legendary Chicago comedy troupes Second City and Annoyance Theatre. Sedaris’ best-known character is Jerri Blank, a middle-aged, former prostitute-turned-high-school student, featured on the cult series (and then movie) Strangers with Candy. In addition to performing, Sedaris is also known for her kitschy crafting and hostessing skills, which are detailed in I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence and the new Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. In Simple Times, Sedaris seeks to bring the joy of cheap crafting to the masses with projects like seashell toilet seat covers and crab-claw roach clips. This will be a ticketed event. Tickets are $10.00, or free with the purchase of Simple Times. The letter on each ticket will reserve a place in the signing line. Books and tickets may be pre-ordered through the bookshop; purchased at the store starting November 2nd (when the book goes on sale); or purchased at the door. (goddesspt2)… (more)
