In his newest book, on sale starting October 16th, this masterful storyteller and intellectual historian, by tracing the history of Descartes’ bones, brilliantly explores how the current angry debate between faith and reason first got started. By revealing a “world too wild for our strategies to contain it,” Shorto helps us escape from dogmatism and find ways to talk to, rather than yell at, one another.
