About the Author
The author of over a dozen books, Chard Powers Smith held degrees from Yale, Harvard, and Columbia, and taught at Northwestern University and the University of Kansas. Erik Hesselberg has been writing about the Connecticut River for twenty years, first as an environmental reporter for the show more Middletown Press and then as executive editor of Shoreline Newspapers in Guilford, where he oversaw twenty weekly newspapers. He lives in Haddam, Connecticut. show less
