Great pictures and a good section on nutrition, including a list of "hero foods" that provide of lot of essential vitamins in one fell swoop. Recipes have helpful tips in the sidebars. Includes many tarts and veggie pies. This is one I hope to get my hands on again soon.

I really enjoy this book. It covers a wide range of techniques from basic piping to sculpting to beautiful life-like sugar flowers. Over half the book is devoted to cakes and there are some lovely unique ones as well as traditional ones and even some pastries. There are cakes for just about every occasion and with difficulty ranging from beginner to professional. It even includes templates. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because it includes so much information, sometimes it does not include enough on a particular technique. I would have liked for some of the instruction to be a little more detailed. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this book and would purchase it again.… (more)

Large format paperback reprint of Murdock's book, by Vancouver's Whitecap Publishing. The nutrition section is slightly dated, emphasizing carbs as the core of a healthy diet, and condemning all fats. The recipes are simple, easily prepared, and successful. The ingredient lists use Aussie or British conventions, calling for "Spanish (red) onions". Good value as a used book.

Clear instructions with lovely photos. Prep time/serving sizes clear, but no nutrition info. Measurements are in grams/ounces (Aussie/English) first, teaspoon & tablespoon (American) second. A very pretty book.
