Dr Anne Summers will launch our 2010 Talkabout series with the story of her search to find a lost painting of her mother and the journey of discovery that led her to all sorts of unanticipated places and people. Anne Summers is an author and journalist whose latest book, The Lost Mother is about her search for a missing portrait of her mother (published in May by Melbourne University Press). Her other books include the now classic Damned Whores and God's Police (1975, 1993, 2000), Gamble for Power (1983) - a book about the 1983 federal election, her autobiography Ducks on the Pond (1999), The End of Equality (2003) and On Luck (2008), part of the Little Books on Big Themes series published by Melbourne University Press. and On Luck.
