Short biography
Gori Suture was born on July 23, 1976, a birthday she shares with Rose Edith Kelly, the first wife of Aleister Crowley. She grew up poor on a small farm in southern Virginia in a loving, Baptist household. In the sixth year of her life, Gori was sexually molested by a teenage boy. In response to the trauma, she allowed another soul to enter her body and coexist within, giving her strength and courage as needed.

Gori has been a writer and artist all her life, creating stories and plays since childhood. Gori believes in love at first sight, and she married her high school sweetheart, Apothekari, in 1995. She attended film school from 1996-1997, but due to financial restraints, had to give up her dream of writing movies to support herself working full time as an assistant manger at Kinko’s. Gori was content to live a quiet life of excess and debauchery until her spiritual awakening in the fall of 1998. A self proclaimed atheist who struggled with depression, in a fit of despair over writer’s block and under the influence of mild psychedelics, she offered her soul to any spirit willing to bless her with a muse. A spirit, in the form of a wolf and calling itself Ishtar, answered her call for help, demanding not Gori’s soul in return, but rather, the telling of a her story. Ishtar opened Gori’s mind to a new way of thinking, and Gori devoted herself to paganism and the Great Work, allowing a higher spirit to also dwell within. On Christmas day, 1998, Gori met her muse, B. H. Young, and unexpectedly fell in love with him, again at first sight. Still in love with Apothekari, under the advisement of Ishtar, she came to understand that love is limitless, and thus, Gori became a polyamorist.

Gori subsequently wrote the erotic horror novel Asphyxia, A Smut Saga, Vol.1 in longhand as the ideas were presented to her by Ishtar, and by 2004, Gori had completed a rough layout of the story. At the same time, Kinko’s went through a time of upheaval, and her job hindered her from typing up the notes. On July 23, 2004, Gori heard the voice of a banshee warn her of impending death. A friend from work died later that day and left Gori feeling distraught. Distracted by grief and stress, Gori suffered a freak accident involving a camel cricket just 7 days later on August 1st. Diagnosed with RSD, irreparable nerve damage in her right hand that threatened her entire well being, Gori used her recovery time to type up her notes, using only her left hand. The doctors could do little to alleviate her constant physical pain, so Gori again turned to the gods and gave her right hand to Kali Ma, consequently giving up her prescription pain medication in favor of meditation.

After a leave of absence for recovery, Gori attempted to return to work at Kinko’s but soon realized the work was too physical and quit in the fall of 2005. She spent the next year writing her second novel, The Witch of Hainted Holler, A Smut Saga, Vol. 2, which she completed in 2006. Gori spent much of 2007 rewriting and editing her novels and short stories. The third, expanded edition of Asphyxia, A Smut Saga, Vol.1 and the second edition of The Witch of Hainted Holler, A Smut Saga, Vol. 2 will be released in the spring of 2008. She is currently working on the final two installments of her Smut Saga series.

Gori is also known as the founder of B-Czar Magazine, a local North Carolina rag featuring band interviews and local fiction and art, and she served as editor and contributor from its inception in 2000 until its demise in 2005.

When not chronicling the entropy of this plane and uncovering properties of chromatic light, Gori enjoys deathrock, bug collecting, theology, occultism, and transpersonal anthropology. She lives in North Carolina with her family and numerous cats.
