This is a real classic White Dwarf, there's a lot of great content here. From the fantastic art on the cover, featuring masterful use of colour by David Gallagher, through the mugshots of the Dwarf team looking like a bunch of freaks, then just so many articles! Highlights for me where (of course) the great 'Eavy Metal pages; new formation rules for knights and a pseudo-Robin Hood by Nigel Stillman; painting and tactical tips for tanks; tournament review; Bretonnians vs High Elves battle report; and that still leaves lots of articles that I haven't mentioned. Crap cartoony artwork and laddish editorial style be damned, this is good stuff!… (more)

More of a mixed bag this one. This issue saw the release of WFB 5th Edition and so there's a fair bit about Bretonnians and Lizardmen, as you'd expect. There's also a load of stuff about Chaos Space Marines, Ahriman and the Thousand Sons, and a great piece of Eavy Metal featuring some amazing CSM conversions. Mike McVey on banners was a good article, and so was Owen Branham's Modelling Workshop. There was also a good battle report in which Adrian Wood's Eldar were taught a lesson by Ian Pickstock's Guard.… (more)
